Check out your spa for special services that spell relaxation for the athelete
Many spas are adding a whole new range of services to their menu. These are geared to the client who was previously thought to not need extra "physical" services—the fitness buff. In fact, facilities like Toronto’s Estée Lauder Spa at Holt Renfrew are currently providing specific athletic-type treatments to the lean and brawny.

"Part of today’s health and fitness mentality," says Holt Renfrew’s Estée Lauder Spa coordinator Amy Gilchrist, " is to rejuvenate at the spa." Services such as deep tissue, relaxation and trigger point massages are all ideal recommendations for well-worked muscles. "We have treatments called the Sports Pedicure, Body Glow, and the Foot Buff," explains Gilchrist. "Exercise buffs and personal trainers come in to the salon seeking specialized treatments and these names help to point them in the right direction. Runners, for example, have problems with their feet and many people just enjoy the exfoliation and detoxification of a deep cleansing treatment after spending hours sweating at the gym."
