Versace's New Moscow Home

By J.J. Martin
Fashion Wire Daily Milan - A new boutique dedicated solely to Versace's home collection is slated to open in Moscow in mid-February. The 550 square-meter space, filled with Versace's entire home line, is located in the luxury-filled Crocus City Mall, just 25 minutes outside of the city center. This is the company's second home store in the world, following their Milan location, which opened in 1999 in Via San Pietro all'Orto.

Versace is no stranger to Russia. While other fashion brands have only recently awoken to the market's opportunities, Versace was a trailblazer, opening the city's very first luxury brand flagship boutique back in 1994. Since that the time, the brand has flourished, as wealthy upper class Russians warmed immediately to the flashy and opulent style, particularly its rich, baroque home designs.

The long-standing Versace boutique in 19 Kuznesty Most had one entire room dedicated to the home collection, but the company saw greater room for growth. Santo Versace said in a statement, "our Moscow boutique has continually performed beyond our expectations, making it a logical market for expansion. The Versace Home collection has become an extremely important business, so it makes sense that we want to marry these two rapidly growing areas." Versace's home business currently represents about 10 percent of the company's total turnover.

The new boutique will carry the entire Versace Home collection including both the classical and new modern furniture, as well as bed and bath linens, tableware by Rosenthal and glassware by Venini. The company is also introducing a new interior decorating service, dedicating a special space within the store to help clients, free of charge, with all their decorating needs.
